Ahavat Ammi Ministry (R. Shapira)
Love Israel by Dr. Baruch Korman

Picture
The Aleph is the first Hebrew letter while Omega is the last Greek letter in the respective alphabets which represents Yeshua as the 'Beginning and End' of our faith, the Alpha and Omega. At the core of our faith are the Hebrew Scriptures, the Tanach which the Aleph represents and this is completed by Omega - the Renewed Covenant written in Greek. The Renewed is hidden in the Older  and the Older Covenant which still stands today is revealed in the Renewed Covenant.
AlephOmega Ministries is a ministry to Jewish and Gentile believers in Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus The Christ).

The aim of AlephOmega Ministries is to help bring about the 'One New Man' that Paul speaks about in Ephesians 2:11-17.

We are based in the North West of England and are available to help congregations and fellowship groups to reconnect with the Jewish roots of Christianity after all Yeshua was born as a Jew.  This may involve challenging many firmly held traditions and restoring the fullness that Yeshua reveals about the Tanach, the Hebrew Scriptures.  Both Jewish and Gentile believers in Yeshua need healing from the wall of hostility that has arisen between them since the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE.

The name of our fellowship is Beit Echad, which means "House of Unity" where Jew and Gentile can meet together to become disciples of Yeshua and be obedient to His commandments, mitzvot in Hebrew. Echad is the same word used in the Shema, where  G-d Himself is described as "One" in this sense. It is also used to refer to a man and women becoming echad in marriage. To learn more about this mystery please read
"About Beit Echad".

                        Background to AlephOmega Ministries

This  ministry has been on the hearts of Ian and Giborah McDonald for many years. We have been and still are on a journey of discovering the roots of our faith, Giborah from her Jewish background and Ian from a Gentile background.  We have moved from seeing Jesus from a Greek perspective to seeing Yeshua from His Jewish perspective.

This journey has taken Ian who was brought up attending Sunday school from an early age, baptised as a child, confirmed as a teenager and then fallen into the ways of the world before recommitting himself fully to the Lord. Thinking back a key milestone on this journey was marrying his wife Penny who due to having a medical condition felt a call to unpack and understand her Jewish Roots which go back as far as she has been able to research her family tree to the 1500s and further. This led  to Penny to use her Hebrew name Giborah, and together with Ian joining a Messianic Congregation in Johannesburg, Beit Yeshua. Ian remained involved with the Presbyterian and then a Baptist Church with occasional visits to the Anglican Church.  At the same time he studied theology through TEEC. Giborah during this time worked in the Jews for Jesus office in South Africa and helped the Rev Janette Ross who led Messiah’s People (part of CMJ) in Johannesburg with some teaching on the Jewish Roots of our Faith. Janette had worked in Israel for 26 years and has a love for teaching the truth about Israel and the Jewish people.

We became leaders in this Messianic congregation, but later when we knew the Lord was calling us to learn how to help people with deep problems having dealt with some of our own baggage, we laid this down and came over to the UK to train.  We believe the Lord was calling us as missionaries to the UK to bring healing and the Jewish roots back to this country. Many of the early church fathers in the UK had a love for the Jewish people as well as knowing that G-d would take the Jewish people back to the land of Israel.

Our passion is to teach about the Jewish roots of our faith, place of Israel in Scripture and on the Feasts of G-d/ Moedim as they point to Yeshua haMashiach.  The Lord is a restoring G-d and He wants to restore the Jewish roots so we will be ready for His return, both Jew and Gentile as the ONE NEW MAN.

Since attending a number of American Messianic Jewish Alliance conferences in Florida, we started studying with Rabbi Itzak Shapira in Yeshiva Shuvu, a online Messianic Jewish yeshiva. This has brought us to a deeper understanding of the place of Israel and being grafted into the House of Israel. We now follow the Messianic Jewish liturgy using the Ahavat Olam Siddur in our worship services.
