Tet ט ninth letter of the Hebrew Alef-Bet has a shape like something twisted or like a coiled snake as can be seen in both the ancient and the modern symbols used for this character.
Tet ט has a Gematria of 9 and a sound of ‘t’ and in ancient Hebrew טית means a 'snake' or 'to surround' or 'twist' from an unused root in Hebrew טיה Tayah which means something rolled together, to spin or to twist.
Often the image of a snake is used to represent sin or satan. An example of this is the 9th Commandment which is Exodus 20:16
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour."
לֹֽא־תַעֲנֶ֥ה בְרֵעֲךָ֖ עֵ֥ד שָֽׁקֶר׃
For us to falsely accuse someone is to take the place of an adversary (satan שִׂ֖֣טן ) and take on the role of Satan. For us to walk in chet חטא (sin) we start to enter or build the fence of the snakes strength. This can led to being entrapped by the snake and then ending up becoming a snake and an accuser.
